across continents

planning for exchange for this coming fall has made me really excited ! and i'm probably going to go on exchange all by my lonesome self because most of my friends are only going next january. i just cant wait to leave this place. i'm quite psyched already ! i'm already looking at zuji and various online ticketing websites to check out prices. which is madness considering i have not even completed my credit exchange worksheet.

and the arts elective offered by the american universities sound really exciting, and novel. haha. they have bagpipe classes. i've elected to do courses like theories of international exchange/comparative politics although i know i would quite possibly do miserably in them.

hopefully all goes well. and i'll be off to see the world in august. well, not quite the world, but north america at least :)

vietnam

the land of a thousand motorcycles.
roads are crazyyy to cross.

ho chi minh was alright. it's still nowhere near bangkok for shopping, but the food is yum. i had meals after meals of fine and fancy food ! complete with a manicure, pedicure and massage. didnt buy much. except for a communist hat, sun glasses, a bag and an andy warhol replica painting. and souvenirs for friends. i buy communist propaganda everywhere i go. am secretly a communist.

other than that, it was museum traipsing. go to the war remnants museum if you are there. it's perhaps the only musuem worth a look. the images from the vietnam war are haunting. and even around ho chi minh city many generations later, you still see the remnants of agent orange, manifested in people who have to get around in their two arms because of highly deformed legs. it's a good reminder of how war can be so utterly devestating. and shocking how humans can do such things to one another.

oh, i bought photographs of the war. i have no idea why. it's rather depressing and grosteque actually.

haiiiiii. back to school.

cranium,farewells and russia.

last night was spent acting, sculpting, yelling, singing, giggling, laughing with the china trippers at settlers. it was tres fun and i hope we get to this again before some of us leave for exotic lands for exchange ! i have some of the most fun with these people so there was a pressing need to meet up before half of them leaves ! it was also my last day at work. which marks the end of my non-existent holidays, sadly. and as much as i dread work everyday, the internship was made alot easier with the other spritely interns. :)
also caught eastern promises today. and i'd say it's one of the most gripping and compelling thrillers around. it was so refreshing to watch a good movie after a slew of ordinary ones. like golden compass, avp, and i am legend which wasnt too bad, except i thought it failed to live up to all the hype.
today is the third farewell in 2years. less is shed each time. less hype is made each time also. this time was a quiet departure in a noisy train. but no less significant.
arrivals and departures are big in my life. but i'll cope. we all do.

goodbye & hello

goodbye 2007 & hello 2008.

i am also officially over festive holidays. and i need to always remember to never hold too high hopes. must remember that, must remember that.

on a lighter note, i passed driving !!! finally. except, i havent applied for my license because the system broke down as i was waiting for it. -_- so i better not lose my result slip in the meantime.

2007 was a good year. it saw me coping remarkably well, learning more about myself and others. too bad it didnt end the way it should. i dont know about 2008 though. it seems to be wrought with uncertainty.

but it's okay, we'll all survive.
